The Pharmacy First service is a collaboration between Old Mutual Health and preferred partner pharmacies aiming to provide professional advice and treatment for common ailments.
The service prioritises health and convenience by utilising community pharmacies for prompt, effective, and affordable treatment of common health concerns. This approach minimizes long waits and unnecessary hospital visits.
The care team at the pharmacy comprises clinicians, nurses, and pharmacists. They coordinate virtual clinical assessment, remote medical examination, diagnosis, and treatment.
The Pharmacy First service is designed to treat common ailments. These may include common conditions like cold and flu symptoms, minor injuries, skin irritations, and other non-emergency health concerns.
The virtual clinical assessment involves the coordination of remote medical examination and diagnosis by the care team at the pharmacy. Patients may be assessed through video calls or other virtual platforms to determine the appropriate course of treatment.
Old Mutual Health aims to make the Pharmacy First service affordable for customers. You will be able to pay for your pharmacy first visit using your Old Mutual health insurance or your preferred means of payment
